Regenerative Anti-Lock Braking
Bionx offers four levels of power braking regeneration. In addition to 4 generative modes (G button on console) and regenerative braking also activates when the rear handbrake is used. When in use, the Generation Mode recharges the battery but also makes it harder to pedal so its often used to recapture energy when going downhill. Please note that the generative mode does not replace the existing brakes, but considerably increases braking quality especially on extended downhill runs and steep, off-road surfaces.

Command Console
Mounted on your bicycle's handlebars, the Bionx command console is equipped with a two-mode microprocessor that provides both assistance and generation modes.

Other features include a multifunction odometer, battery gauge and even a programmable alarm that goes off when the bike is moved. A thumb throttle allows for power-assistance from the motor whether you pedal or not. The thumb throttle option is included with all Bionx kits sold at Electric Cyclery.

Optional Integrated Rear Battery Rack
Having trouble fitting your battery on the water bottle mounts? The Bionx rear rack battery is the perfect solution. Installing the Bionx battery under the rack is a good option when your bike frame does not allow for a low and center battery installation. This innovative design also includes an integrated tail light system for improved safety and visibility while leaving the top and sides of the rack available for cargo.

The Bionx Rear Rack Battery is now available for the PL350 and PL500 Bionx motor kits for an additional $100. The rear rack option also includes a 6 / 12 volt accessory plug that can power your laptop, cell phone, or even 110 volt appliances if the Bionx battery is used with a DC-converter.

The Bionx systems require a thread-on freewheel for rear wheel gearing. If you are unsure as to what size freewheel is needed, simply count the number of sprockets on the rear wheel. Electric Cyclery customers have the option of ordering a 5, 6, 7, 8, or 9 speed freewheel with any of the Bionx conversion kits on checkout.
